Here's a little about us.

Eco-Olympics started in 2013 as part of Campus Conservation Nationals. A nation wide energy and water conservation competition for universities & colleges. We participated at 3 levels of competition: Campus Conservation Nationals, Big10 Unplugged, and Eco-Olympics. Eco-Olympics is a student run competition that is led by dedicated, energy-conscious student leaders and supported by various departments across campus such as: University Housing, Facilities & Services, ISEE & the Student Sustainability Committee have all been vital contributors to our mission.

Our goal is to engage, educate, and motivate students, employees, and professors to change their behavior, and have a good time while doing it!

CCN

National

Campus Conservation Nationals was the largest energy and water conservation competition platform for universities & colleges in the country. They have since reformed their platform, thus Eco-Olympics has distanced ourselves.

Eco-Olympics

Local

Finally, Eco-Olympics is our campus level competition. Residence Halls across the UIUC campus compete against each other. Students create teams in their hall through building captains & promote energy savings via tabling events and other fun programs.

B10 Unplugged

Conference

Big10 Unplugged was a conference level competition under CCN where Big10 Universities competed against each other. In 2015, UIUC won B10 Unplugged and are still the reigning champions!

Due to CCN changes, this competition has not continued the past couple of years.
